Remembering Ourselves, Imaging Others
To remember is to gather again -- to recollect --the many fragments of our personal story. When we remember ourselves, we pass our stories back through our hearts. Through storytelling, exercises and timed writings, we will prompt our memories and plumb our imaginations. We will navigate the junction between veracity and fabrication, fact and fiction, the mind and the heart.
This workshop is for writers of all genres and levels who wish to explore themselves "as keepers of stories."
Please come prepared to tell others (in less than five minutes) about something that happened in your life, something that mattered, that is, something that had consequences. Thus we will begin by speaking the word; we will move on to writing, and then, finally, to reading aloud what we have written.
Laptops welcome if you prefer to write on it rather than use paper and pen.
