Madeline Island Ferry Line

When planning your travel arrangements it is important to note that the ferry to Madeline Island runs on a set schedule every half hour in the summer. The crossing takes twenty minutes.

The first trip leaves at 6:30 am from Bayfield (our port town) and the last boat departs from the Island at 10:30 pm. Reservations are not accepted.

For a complete schedule and rates please visit the Madeline Island Ferry Line website.

MISA is located 1.5 miles from the ferry dock.

For commercial flights we recommend Duluth International Airport (DLH), which is the closest Regional Airport (approximately 90 miles from Bayfield, WI).

It is serviced by Delta and United Airlines as well as all major car rental agencies.

Delta offers five daily flights from Minneapolis to Duluth. United has five daily flights from Chicago to Duluth. The frequency of these connections makes it easy to schedule your travel.

If you have a private plane, Madeline Island has its own small airport.
