Skip Whitcomb

Skip Whitcomb is an accomplished outdoor painter and printmaker. He studied at the Art Center College of Design. He paints on location and works out of his studio in Ft. Collins CO.

He has won numerous awards, such as the Col. Red Smith Memorial Award from the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, WY and the “Artist’s Choice Award” at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center and Museum in Cody, WY, each two times, and “Artist’s Choice Award” at Coors Western Art Exhibit in Denver, CO.

He has an extensive exhibition record including: National Academy, NY; American Watercolor Society, NY; Gilcrease Museum, OK; and Prix de West Invitational, OK. Listed in Who’s Who in American Art, Whitcomb’s work has been featured several times in Southwest Art, American Artist, Plein Air Magazine, The Pastel Journal, and Western Art and Architecture, among others. His work may be viewed in galleries in New Mexico and Wyoming, and on his website: skipwhitcomb.com.
