FAQs

How do I register for a workshop?
You may register online or by calling (715) 747-2054. A 25% deposit is all you need to secure your spot, or you may choose to pay in full. Final payment is due 60 days before your workshop.
Is there a certain number of students required to hold a workshop?
MISA will hold workshops for which a minimum number of students are registered. That number varies from workshop to workshop. If we must cancel a workshop, registered students will be given the opportunity to enroll in another course, with no transfer penalty. A full refund will be given to students who do not wish to transfer.
Are there waiting lists for workshops?
Yes. Waiting lists are maintained for all filled workshops.
What is the workshop schedule?
Workshops typically run Monday – Friday from 9am-4pm with an hour break for lunch. Occasionally instructors will change the schedule to meet the needs of their workshop.
What are the age requirements for students at MISA?
Students must be at least 18 years of age to attend; occasionally exceptions are made based on Instructor preferences.
How much is required for a deposit on a workshop registration?
A 25% deposit is all you need to secure your spot, and reserve on-site lodging and meals. You may also choose to pay in full.
Online Workshops require full payment upon registration.
How much is tuition?
Tuition rates are based on the workshop and are subject to change. Please refer to the workshop description pages on this website for current tuition costs. Tuition does not include costs for lodging, meals or workshop materials fees.
Are there any discounted tuition programs?
Full-time residents of Bayfield and Ashland Counties are eligible for a $150 discount for any regular course on a space-available, stand-by basis. In the event that the workshop reaches maximum capacity, local residents may choose to pay full tuition for a confirmed space, or cancel without penalty. Local residents must present a valid driver’s license.
Can I change my registration from one workshop to another?
Yes. If a scheduling conflict occurs, you can transfer once to another workshop if space is available. There will be a $100 Transfer fee.
Will my tuition be refunded if I cancel my registration?

Transfer Policy – Registrants who cancel their enrollment in a class may make a one-time transfer to another workshop without penalty. Transfers may be made either in the current workshop season, or any class in the following year. A class registration is transferable to another person, with the same time limit restrictions.

All transfers are subject to a $200 transfer fee.

All transfers must be made 30 days prior to the workshop.

Refund Policy – If you prefer not to transfer your workshop registration, the following fees apply:

More than 90 days prior to the workshop $200 cancellation fee

Less than 90 days but 60 days prior to the workshop $400 cancellation fee

Less than 60 days no refunds; however see above Transfer Policy above.

Cancellation fees reflect the cost of registration, staff, instructor contracts, material acquisitions, and other services. This policy applies to all registrants, regardless of the reason for cancelling. We encourage the use of trip insurance.

MISA Cancels a Workshop

MISA reserves the right to cancel a workshop 30 days prior to the start of the class if the minimum number of students has not been met for a class. MISA will notify the registrants if there is a need to cancel. Students will have the option to transfer to another workshop or receive a full refund. MISA cannot be responsible for non-refundable airline tickets.
We expect participants will attend the entire class as scheduled. Late arrivals and early departures are disruptive for both the instructor and the other students. Please make every effort to participate fully in your class. Tuition adjustments will not be made for late arrivals or early departures. Call us before enrolling if you have questions about these policies.
Should an instructor cancel and we run the workshop with an equivalent caliber instructor, we do not issue refunds.

If you prefer not to transfer your Online workshop registration, the following fees apply:

More than 14 days prior to the workshop, refund your deposit less the $75 cancellation fee.

Less than 14 days prior to the workshop no refund; however, see Transfer Policy.
