Alissa and Jacob Hessler

Jacob Hessler’s work has been described as introspective, nostalgic, meditative and spiritual. Focusing primarily on large-scale landscapes, his keen eye and use of scale connects viewers with the vastness of the human experience. His images feel expansive and serene, with a whispering tension between the familiar and the deeply mysterious. Hessler¼s signature style has developed a strong following of collectors and interior designers.

In 2007, Hessler graduated from the prestigious Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. After Brooks, Hessler assisted celebrity photographer Jill Greenberg on numerous high profile projects, including work for New York Magazine and Wired. Following Greenberg Studios, Hessler moved to New York City to pursue a masters degree in graphic design at Parsons. After Parsons, he worked in New York as a freelance commercial photographer, art director and graphic designer.

Hessler is now working on a book in collaboration with inaugural poet Richard Blanco, combining Hessler’s imagery with Blanco’s words. When not shooting or teaching workshops, he acts as the creative director for the boutique branding agency, Hessler Creative.
