Our meal plan includes five buffet breakfasts and lunches at the hotel. During the evenings, you will have an opportunity to experience some of the best Southwest cuisines at a multitude of neighboring restaurants.
The Hilton culinary team utilizes the freshest local and organic ingredients including fruits, vegetables and spices from local farmers, and prime grades of meat from regional ranchers.

A Week with the Color Guys: Kaffe Fassett & Brandon Mably’s Glorious Color Retreat
Immerse yourself in the magic of color and pattern with internationally renowned colorists Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably at Madeline Island School of the Arts. Each day is designed to inspire creativity through non-technical, playful exercises—perfect for anyone eager to explore the world of color. No experience required!
Class Time: 9 AM – 4 PM with a one-hour lunch break (Friday class ends at 12:30 PM)
Sunday, May 10th – Meet and Greet
Kick off the week with drinks, snacks, and conversation! Gather with Kaffe, Brandon, and fellow participants to preview the creative journey ahead.
Monday, May 11th – Paper Color Collage Workshop
Explore the power of creating different color moods using paper collages. Gain confidence in building color schemes that you can apply to any creative medium—paint, fabric, or beyond.
Tuesday, May 12th – Kaffe Colorway Painting Workshop
Re-color one of Kaffe’s fabric designs using the hues of an inspirational artwork or scene. Experience firsthand how changing a color scheme transforms the perception of the design. Painting materials supplied, no painting experience needed!
Wednesday, May 13th – Explore Santa Fe & Color Inspiration Lecture
Spend the day exploring Santa Fe’s galleries, Folk Art Museum, and unique architecture. Your time at The Folk Art Museum will focus on the Girard exhibit, which highlights vibrant colors and intricate patterns. This visit offers an opportunity to observe and analyze design elements within folk art, fostering a deeper appreciation for color and pattern.
In the late afternoon, join Kaffe and Brandon for an inspiring lecture on their world travels and how they find and interpret color in their designs.
Thursday, May 14th – Diamond Quilt Workshop
Design your own color pallet using a 3 ½-inch diamond quilt pattern. Work with core fabrics and expand your palette with the help of Kaffe, Brandon, and a pop-up fabric shop. Bring an open mind—you’ll be amazed by what you create!
Friday, May 15th – Fabric Collage Workshop – class ends at 12:30pm
Apply all the color lessons from the week to a fabric collage. Discover how different hues and tones interact to create harmonious designs that can inspire a quilt, needlepoint, or even a room palette.
End your week feeling empowered with new color skills and ready to take your creativity to the next level!
