INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION POLICIES

Payment Options:
Upon registration, choose between a full payment for tuition, lodging, and meals, or a 25% down payment. Unpaid balances are due 60 days before the workshop starts.

To ensure accuracy, multiple workshop registrations cannot be processed in a single transaction.

Cancellations:
Regardless of the reason, cancellations incur fees covering registration, staff, instructor contracts, materials, and other services. We encourage you to consider the use of trip insurance to safeguard against unexpected situations that would cause you to cancel your workshop registration. Options for cancellations include transfers or refunds with applicable fees.

Transfer Policy:
If you need to cancel your workshop enrollment, you can make a one-time transfer to any other workshop. This transfer is valid during the current workshop season or any workshop in the following year. Additionally, you can transfer your registration to another person within the same time limit. The following conditions apply:

  • $200 transfer fee.
  • Transfers permitted up to 61 days before the workshop.
  •  No refunds or transfers within 60 days of the workshop.

Refund Policy:
If you prefer not to transfer your workshop registration, the following fees apply:

  • More than 120 days prior: Refund of deposit less $200.
  • Less than 120 but 90 days prior: Refund of deposit less $400.
  • Less than 90 days prior: No refunds; refer to Transfer Policy.
  • Less than 60 days prior: No refunds or transfers.

MISA Cancels a Workshop:
MISA reserves the right to cancel a workshop 60 days prior to the start of the class if the minimum number of students has not been met. MISA will notify the registrants if there is a need to cancel. Options for affected participants include transferring or receiving a full refund, excluding non-refundable airline tickets. In the event that an instructor cancels, and MISA runs the workshop with an equivalent caliber instructor, no refunds will be issued.

Late Arrivals and Early Departures:
Participants are encouraged to attend the entire class as scheduled. Tuition adjustments won’t be made for late arrivals or early departures.

MISA Online Workshops:
Payment Options are the same for both in-person and online programs. Transfer and cancellation policies apply with these modified terms:

  • Unpaid balances are due 21 days before the workshop.
  • $50 transfer fee.
  • Transfers permitted up to 7 days before the workshop.
  • More than 14 days prior: Refund of deposit less $75.
  • Less than 14 days prior: No refunds; refer to Transfer Policy.

Tuition for Area Residents:
Full-time residents of Bayfield and Ashland counties in Wisconsin are eligible for a $150 discount on Madeline Island Workshops. Discount is applicable on a space-available, stand-by basis. In the event that the class reaches maximum capacity, local residents may choose to pay full tuition for a confirmed space or cancel without penalty. Cancellations for any other reasons are subject to the policy set out above. Local residents must present a valid driver’s license.

Processing Fees
To support the administrative, operational, and payment processing infrastructure necessary to coordinate our multi-day workshops, a non-refundable processing fee of 3% is applied to each order at checkout. This fee is calculated based on the full value of the selected workshop package, including any lodging and meal components.

Processing fees are used to cover internal costs related to registration handling, secure payment management, accommodation coordination, and support services. This fee is clearly displayed in the cart and included in the total cost prior to purchase confirmation.

We do not add hidden charges, and we are committed to full transparency regarding all pricing components. By completing a purchase, you agree to the inclusion of this processing fee.

Accessibility:
Most of our studios and lodging are handicapped accessible; however, accessibility features may vary by campus. If you have mobility restrictions or require specific accommodations, please reach out to us in advance so we can discuss access to studios, lodging, and other facilities and ensure your needs are met.

Acceptance:
MISA is an equal-opportunity organization open to all.

No Smoking:
Smoking is not allowed inside any MISA buildings or on MISA Grounds. Please visit our accommodation pages for other campus policies.

Personal Property:
MISA is not responsible for the security of students’ and instructors’ property.

Pets:
Please leave your furry friends at home. We do, however, welcome service animals to our MISA Campus. Please contact the Registrar regarding this policy and our other locations.

Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk:
Participation in any workshop, class, or program offered by Madeline Island School of the Arts (“MISA”), whether on-campus, off-site, or online, is entirely voluntary. By registering, you acknowledge and assume all risks associated with participation, including but not limited to injury, illness, accident, property damage, loss, or death.
