The Improv Paradox: Where the rules you make set you free – Session 2

Availability: Spaces Available

Due to popular demand, we are offering a second session (Session 2) of Susan’s Improv Paradox class. If you missed out on registering for Session 1, now is the time to sign up for Session 2! Session 2 is a stand-alone week-long workshop, not consecutive with The Improv Paradox – Session 1.

During this workshop, you will design and construct a quilt top that is uniquely yours. We will have lively daily presentations and interactive demos focusing on the elements and principles of design. We will learn that rules don’t stifle creativity; they supercharge it. Rules act as a framework, a set of guiding principles that force you to make intentional choices rather than drown in endless possibilities. Exercises, tips, techniques and loads of encouragement will be provided. Group discussion and frequent one-on-one check-ins will be part of our daily routine.

Through exercises, structured rule making, and guided prompts, you will create a quilt top with unabashed freedom. You’ll ask yourself: what are my heart and soul saying when I listen close enough? We will work through lessons designed to shake off all those things that are holding you back. Exercises that will stir your creative soul. Be prepared for playful, exuberant, meaningful prompts that spark your creativity. Be prepared to connect with your heart, soul, imagination, and inner artist. You may not leave with a perfect piece ready to exhibit, but you’ll leave with something better: some ideas and strategies for awakening your creativity and listening to your own voice.

Students should be familiar with the elements and principles of design and should be intermediate to advanced sewers.
