Diane Kappa

Genre: Mixed Media

Diane Kappa is an artist and illustrator with a background in fashion and textile design. She works primarily in block printing, drawn to the meditative rhythm of hand carving and the tactile nature of ink on paper. Embracing the subtle imperfections of the handmade process, she often combines her prints with cyanotypes and hand stitching to explore texture, repetition, color, and pattern.

Travel and creative community are central to her practice. Her residency at Château Orquevaux in France continues to inspire a series rooted in the layered decay of old buildings, where remnants of wallpaper and paint reveal the history of a room—reflecting her ongoing curiosity, respect for craft, and devotion to process. Diane teaches from her studio and finds great joy in helping students discover their creative spark.
