Liz Zwiener

Genre: Fiber Arts

Combining her lifelong love of sharing and connecting through art, Liz has spent much of her adult life creating and teaching.

She holds a BFA (drawing and printmaking) and BBA (marketing) from Southern Methodist University. She has taught drawing, painting, mixed media, fiber art and sculpture for 12+ years to adults and children at Kaleidoscope School of Fine Arts in Barrington, IL as well as many years of art outreach to grade schools, senior care facilities, and dementia patients. She was instrumental in the formation of an ‘Intro to Quilting’ program at the Batahola Cultural Arts Center in Managua, Nicaragua.

A botanical printing class with Lisa Binkley many years ago inspired further education and experimentation and a whole new approach to printing and dying with fabric and paper. Her art has been exhibited and sold at the Fine Art of Fiber (Chicago Botanic Garden) and galleries in the Midwest.

When not creating, Liz is likely hiking or cycling with her husband and 2 dogs, or savoring all the time she can get with her 3 adult children and 3 young grandsons.
