Learn to get past your negative inner voices and move forward boldly in your art with collage and mark making. I believe that mixing materials and techniques – painting, collage, and drawing – is one good way to gain more fluidity and freedom in your art making. 

After some warm-ups we will layer and layer painting, drawing, and collage, letting each piece evolve in a non-linear way. Push your pieces way past your comfort zone, let them get ugly, allow them to change direction, and leave them open-ended and unresolved. Approach the process as a process, not a means to an end. This is the key to overcoming the negative voices and second guessing that many artists (including me) struggle with. 

This workshop is open to intermediate and experienced artists. If you are comfortable with acrylic painting, have a working knowledge of color, and some instruction in composition (including from books) you are ready for this class. If you are not sure of your level, please email me.
