Meal Plan Details
We offer a gourmet meal plan with all of our on-campus lodging packages. Daily breakfast and lunch, and two on-campus dinners are served in our spacious Barn dining hall. For the other evening meals, enjoy the sights and sounds of Madeline Island at one of the Island restaurants overlooking Lake Superior sunsets.
Our delicious gourmet meals are prepared by master chef Laura DeRam. Her handcrafted meals are filled to the brim with local and organic ingredients. All meals are tailored to your dietary needs, vegetarian and gluten free options are always available.
Unlimited healthy snacks and beverages are always available 24/7 in our dining hall and workshop studios. We take great pride in providing fresh fruits from our famous Bayfield Orchards.
You’ll always find our chocolate chip cookie jars full morning, noon and night.

About This Workshop
In Series as Process we explore ideas over the course of multiple pieces or studies. Whether the resulting pieces “hang together” or not is not the point, and this workshop will shift your focus to the process of inquiry. The series, as the basic unit of art making, allows you to:
- Examine ideas from multiple perspectives
- Let go of the preciousness of the individual piece
- Dig deeper into your ideas, discover their secrets
- Try out all your What Ifs
Working in series gives your art practice focus, momentum, and most importantly, breathing room: you don’t have to pack everything into one piece. This is a way to format your art practice, rather than a method of creating a group of finished pieces.
Using acrylic paints, collage, and drawing media, we will begin with specific guidelines and examples. As the workshop progresses, you will work more independently, setting your own parameters and starting points. Most importantly you will learn the practice of working in series as a way to keep your creativity alive and thriving!
