Join me in the heart of Santa Fe for an unforgettable five-day journey into the rich, luminous world of cold wax and oil painting. This immersive retreat offers the perfect blend of learning, exploration, and creative rejuvenation.
Whether you’re new to cold wax or eager to deepen your abstract practice, this workshop will guide you through expressive mark-making, intentional color palettes, abstract landscapes, structured grids, mixed-media layering, and the development of a personal series.
Each day features energizing warm-ups, morning and afternoon demos, personal studio coaching, and ample time to work on your projects.
You’ll work with professional materials, experiment boldly, and build a strong collection of abstract works during your stay. If you like to work late, extended studio hours are available.
Breakfast and lunch are included for full retreat participants, and additional perks like optional local tours, one-on-one mentoring, and mini original piece of art from for each participant adds even more value to this rich creative experience.
We will kick off the event with a wonderful meet and greet on Sunday evening to celebrate adventure together.

- Explore key design principles that will help guide your compositions
- Color mixing and palette creation for expressive abstracts
- Editing and refining compositions to say more with less
- Differences between abstract landscapes and semi-abstract designs
- Compositional play with both structured and loose abstracts
- One on one coaching and guidance as well as group sharing and creative
discussions
With daily demos, one-on-one guidance, warm-ups, and access, you’ll leave with a
deeper understanding of this amazing medium and a body of work you’re proud of.
