Workshop Description:
This is a continuation workshop and is best taken after completing our first workshop, either this year or in a previous year. Building on your existing foundation in gouache, watercolor, and composition, this hybrid (studio and on-location) workshop takes your skills further as you explore the next chapter of your Santa Fe experience.
In this workshop, we expand our inspiration to encompass the high desert landscapes that surround Santa fe, and add in the vibrant colors of folk art and craft. With museums visits and day trips to historical towns included in our week, we'll create work that uses next level concepts of color, composition, and storytelling, moving between the studio and inspiring on-location settings.
Along the way, we'll expand our practice adding new techniques across watercolor, gouache, printmaking, and mixed media approaches. Each participant will also build a library of personal mark-making and color palettes that can guide their way of seeing and painting beyond this workshop. Sketchbooks will fill with landscapes, vignettes, patterns, and personal discoveries, and you will go home brimming with ideas to fuel your practice for a long time!
Workshop Schedule:
Sunday Night: Welcome Meet and Greet at 6pm
Monday – Friday: 9am – 4pm
