Color and Motif of Santa Fe: Inspired Printing on Fabric

Availability: Spaces Available

Workshop Description:

Take inspiration from the land, folk patterns, and architecture of Santa Fe and transfer them graphically with textile dyes to cloth. This workshop offers direct printing processes that will capture the motif and hue of the Southwest. We will use thickened dyes to print with silkscreens, monoprint, rubbing, stencils and other techniques that will take advantage of the environmental clues of Santa Fe.  The finished fabric can be used from abstract wall art to garments.

Visiting from New York, Pat is a sought-after lecturer and teacher in contemporary fiber arts.

She will be sharing her wealth of knowledge from decades of working in design. Recognized around the world, her work evokes natural forms that are bold and graphic. Her award-winning art quilts have been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions. Both a piecer and a surface design printer, she builds her works from hand printed fabric, and quilts in response to the imagery. Her workshops focus on design and technique, as well as when to apply the rules, and when to toss them out. Join Pat in printing on cloth the colors of Santa Fe.

Workshop Schedule:
Sunday Night: Welcome Meet and Greet at 6pm
Monday – Thursday: 9am – 4pm
Friday: 9am – 2pm
