Expanding your photographic voice: A multi-genre photographic adventure in Santa Fe
Availability: Spaces Available
Instructor:
‘Every photograph holds more than what we see at first glance. It carries mood, memory, and meaning - waiting for us to draw it out, refine it, and let it tell a story.’
Join acclaimed New York–based photographer Alan Shapiro in the enchanting city of Santa Fe for an immersive five-day workshop designed to expand both your technical skills and creative vision. From the colors of vibrant New Mexican cuisine to the delicate textures of flowers, timeless adobe architecture to the energy of street life and portraiture, you’ll explore photography across all of Alan’s favorite genres in one unforgettable journey.
Guided by Alan’s painterly approach, keen eye for detail, his ability to inspire you to take risks, see differently, and try all sorts of interesting artistic approaches, you’ll not only capture surprising images - you’ll also learn how to transform each one into meaningful stories through thoughtful composition, creative exploration, and artful post-processing techniques. Along the way, you’ll photograph iconic Santa Fe locations, connecting with its culture and community, while pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone in a highly supportive and inspiring environment.
This is more than a workshop. It’s an opportunity to see differently, to create boldly, and to leave with both a richer portfolio and a remarkable sense of joy about your photography.
