Carve, Print, Stitch: Collage with Block printing & Embroidery

Availability: Spaces Available

Workshop Description:

Discover how block printing, hand stitching, and collage can come together to create rich, layered works of art. In this five-day workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of linocut printing, explore print and pattern design, and experiment with a variety of printing techniques. You'll also discover how simple embroidery stitches can add texture and depth to paper. Through demonstrations, guided exercises, and plenty of studio time, you'll build confidence with each process while developing your own creative approach.

Using your hand-printed papers, found ephemera, and stitched details, you'll create mixed-media compositions that tell a personal visual story. Along the way, we'll explore pattern, color, transparency, and layering, with plenty of individual guidance to help you develop work that reflects your unique artistic voice. Whether you're new to printmaking or looking to expand your practice, you'll leave with new skills, finished artwork, and a collection of techniques to continue exploring long after the workshop ends.
