Workshop Description:
Students will produce an art journal capturing the unique beauty of Santa Fe using painting, sketching and collage techniques. Demonstrations and personal attention given in both the studio and plein air work.
Making an art journal provides a memory of place like no other. Each student will work with a journal of blank watercolor paper.
This workshop is a combination of studio and plein air work. While strolling around Santa Fe we will sketch interesting details and scenes we encounter directly into our journals. We will also photograph our surroundings and work from our photos in the studio. Studio work will include painting, sketching and collage using interesting printed media we collect. There will be demonstrations, ideas discussed and personal attention to each student.
Making a journal is a very enjoyable and accommodating experience. All levels of experience in watercolor or acrylic are welcome.
Workshop Schedule:
Sunday Night: Welcome Meet and Greet at 6pm
Monday – Thursday: 9am – 4pm
Friday: 9am – 2pm
